Lerato's Senegalese Yassa commissioned by Tilda Rice
Welcome to one of our most popular cookery classes, this time online! How exciting. Now you can join me from anywhere in the world to learn to cook sumptuous African food.
Love West African food but don't know how to cook your favourites? Are you looking forward to recreating the enchanting foods you tired while visiting? Longing to learn new and exiting recipes? I have just the treat for you.
What to expect?
Enjoy a live and interactive cookery class from the comfort of your own home.
I will share my stories as a Nigerian child travelling the length and breathe of the region, how to pick ingredients and great substitutes, making your own spice blends, chef tips to enhance your home cooking, and tips and tricks for making traditional dishes your own, using the best of what you have locally.
Often described as 'cooking with your friend, I will welcome you into my home 'virtually' to cook with me and we will share our great passion together.
My cookery classes are fabulously fun, laid back, yet very informative and inspiring. After working as a TV chef, TV presenter and columnist in Nigeria, I now live on the Sussex coast from where I run a cookery school with classes in London and the South East. Our African cookery classes explore vibrant African culture through food. We have been featured on BBC World, BBC Radio, GQ, Time Out and we have collaborated with the likes of Waitrose, Divine Chocolate, Soho Group, Tilda Rice & more.
Our class will last for 2-2.5 hours & we will cook up to 3 recipes
(Ingredients can always be substituted & recipe adapted to what you have at home)

Book your place online or buy a gift voucher to be emailed to your favourite people
After booking, you will be sent a confirmation and we will discuss and choose your cookery class date, and menu depending on what’s in your stash at the moment and what you might be able to source before the class.
How will our online cookery class take place?
Before our private classes, we will discuss the best application such as Zoom or Facebook messenger and we will test our connection.
You will receive a menu, a list of utensils and ingredients needed and we can work together to tweak the class to suit you, so don’t worry if you don’t have a few things mentioned. It is important for this to be an enjoyable experience without you having to hunt down ingredients, especially at this time of limited movement.
At your online class you can host up to 4 people in your household and if possible they can join us online if not in the same house as you. You can also have more participants join by booking or inviting them to book online.
Not ready for a class yet or fancy treating someone you can buy a gift voucher to be email to recipient and valid for up to 24 months.
