LERATO ~ PASSION / LOVE IN SOTHO SOUTHERN AFRICAN LANGUAGE

I am Lerato, a proud African woman on a never ending quest to discover great food, the people behind it and to share these gifts with the world.

Brought up with food as the core of family and friendships, I love to share rooted recipes that celebrates culture and identity from Africa and beyond. Thoughtful food with a greater purpose beyond nourishment. My recipes are positively nostalgic, modern and ever evolving.

I believe our love for food breaks down barriers and brings us all together as one people for a shared goal. This belief has always inspired my feasts dreamt up from a childhood spent around the African continent and experiences from travels around the world. These lead to wonderful opportunities as a television broadcaster and newspaper columnist in Nigeria to becoming an author, business owner and cookery school founder in the UK.

I invite you all to cook with me at our virtual food club and cookery classses, join me on immersive events and outdoor feasts in the UK, in Africa and beyond and join a community of food lovers with boundless ideas, experiences and desires.

Thank you for embarking on this beautiful journey with me; to promote diversity in food, to produce ethical and sustainable products, to empower and inspire vibrant cooking and conviviality in both adults and children. I look forward to sharing many feasts with you.

Fantastic! Thoroughly enjoy last night and it's good to showcase some African cuisine to non-Africans. Keep up your good work.
